Welcome Centre
Entrance to the building
The Centre for Academic Support (CWD) is accessible at ground level. The main entrance consists of two glass doors. On the left side, there is an automatic sliding door, and immediately to the right, a manually operated door equipped with a long, vertical handle. The automatic door features an additional push button to activate the opening mechanism. In front of both doors, there are warning tactile strips in a contrasting colour.
Past the automatic door, directly opposite the manually operated one, there is a sofa for resting, and behind it, the "Hejnał" café, where you can buy snacks and coffee. To the right of the door, there is a ticket machine from which you can collect a numbered ticket to register for an appointment at the Welcome Centre. You can also register using the QMS.Everywhere app.
On each floor, next to the room doors at eye level, there is a plaque with the room number and description. These can also be read using NFC tags located in the upper left corner of each plaque.
The Welcome Centre is located on the first floor. After entering the building through the main door from Oleandry 2a Street, turn left to find the lift. Nearby, slightly further to the right, there is also a staircase.
Between the staircase and the café, there are two seating areas, each with a sofa, armchair, and a low table.
First floor
Regardless of whether you use the lift or the stairs, once on the first floor, head straight down the hall. At the end of the hall, you will find the entrance to the Welcome Centre.
Directly opposite the lift, slightly to the left, is a second ticket machine where you can collect a ticket for queueing at student service desks. If you use the stairs, the machine is on your right.
To the right of the lift, diagonally, there is a rest area with a sofa, armchair, low table, floor lamp, and a plant in a pot. Further to the left is another sofa, and to the right are toilets: one accessible for individuals with disabilities and a men's toilet. To the left of the lift, you'll find the women's toilet.
If you walk straight from the lift or stairs, you will reach the waiting area. On the left side, beneath the windows, there are four seating arrangements separated by pillars (three consist of two sofas and a table, and the fourth, deeper in, consists of a single sofa). The waiting area includes five screens: three mounted on pillars and two on the right wall. These display ticket numbers calling students to specific service desks.
Welcome Centre
At the back of the waiting area is the entrance to the Welcome Centre (room 1.08). This is a large open space with sixteen individual service desks. The desks are clearly marked and accessible for persons with reduced mobility. The layout ensures privacy, with appropriate spacing between desks.
- The nearest desk after entering is immediately to the left and is numbered 1.
- Along the left wall under the windows are desks numbered: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
- Directly opposite the entrance, slightly to the right, are desks: 8, 9, 10.
- Along the right wall under the windows are desks: 11, 12, 13.
- Just to the right of the entrance are desks: 14, 15, 16.
In the central area of the room, there is a rest zone with backless seats, a table, and large plant pots. The exit from the Welcome Centre is almost directly opposite the entrance and leads to the corridor.
